Compound compressors are open-type screw compressors with a compound compression scheme. The compressors combine the compactness of a single-stage installation with the efficiency of a two-stage compression. They are especially effective for obtaining low-temperature cold, allowing to achieve a high refrigeration coefficient compared to single-stage or two-stage compression with separate stages.
